Learn the Complete Wu Tai Chi System

Wu Tai Chi still contains the all the original forms in their purity as to how they were taught 5 to 6 generations ago. This is very rare with many Tai Chi forms in different styles not being handed down and lost, or abbreviated into 12 or 24 forms. This has led to them losing their original essence, I only teach pure Wu Tai Chi, there are many old videos available showing that the forms are still the same up to third generation and photos of 2nd generation practicing the same way.

Adapting the training :

Current Student or New to Tai Chi

If you are a current student who wants to better understand and fine tune their Tai Chi practice or if you have never done any Tai Chi before you are both welcome to contact me in regards to personal training, the training program will be adapted to your individual needs.

I like to adapt the way I teach to the student rather then teaching in a fixed unmoving pattern, in this way I can alter your lessons to suit you, so that you can get the most benefits. Tai Chi has this benefit, there are many beginning points depending on your situation, you can ease in gently with Deep Breathing techniques to lower stress or go straight into a more dynamic body and balance workout with the two person exercise called Pushing Hands.

Discussing your needs :

We begin the training by discussing your desires and needs then we adapt the training to suit, the following is a list of entry points into the Tai Chi exercise system that you can take depending on what best suits you

Deep Breathing Exercises:

Tai Chi deep breathing exercise are a gentle entry to the Tai Chi exercise system, they are a gentle combination of full body movements combines with deep breathing and concentration that reenergises your body, relaxes your mind and increases your circulation and sense of well-being. This form can be practiced in an office situation to lower the impacts of stress and of RSI computer injuries, or at an airport to counter Thrombosis, because of the small out of space it needs to perform it.
Suitability: Stress Relief, Releasing shoulder tension, Increasing Balance, Increasing lung capacity, Increasing circulation, suitable for Low mobility, Rehabilitation

Wu Tai Chi 30 Slow Form:

This short Tai Chi slow form is similar to the gentle flowing movements that you see people practicing in the park for health. This is a good entry point for people who have good mobility but lower flexibility who wish to increase their physical health and also relax mentally. The advantages of this shortened form is that it can be practiced in a small space, 1.5 metres X 3 metres, it is very suitable for small living spaces and as a means of maintaining exercise during travelling, it is also designed to be double sided so exercises your body evenly. Continued practice will bring about long term life benefits such as lowered stress levels, improved balance, physical health, overall body strength, increased breathing capacity, improved circulation and concentration.
Suitability: Stress Relief, Releasing shoulder tension, Increasing Balance, Increasing lung capacity, Increasing circulation, suitable for Low flexibility, Rehabilitation, Overall good physical and mental workout

Wu Tai Chi 108 Slow Form:

This is the traditional 108 movement Tai Chi Slow form, the I one I practice daily myself, it takes twenty minutes to perform all the movements from start to finish so it gives a full body workout. This form also increases your flexibility and is designed to increase your internal circulation and boost your immune system therefore increasing your energy levels throughout the day and lowering the chance of catching an illness ill. It contains a set of gentle flowing movements that allow you to get fit and relax at the same time.
Suitability: Weight Loss, Stress Relief, Releasing body tension, Increasing Balance, Increasing lung capacity, Increasing circulation, Relaxation, Alertness, Overall good physical and mental workout.

Tai Chi Pushing Hands:

Wu Tai Chi Pushing Hands is an interesting two person exercise that uses gentle flowing movements to increase your balance, timing, concentration and listening skills, it contains 13 hand exercises, 5 stepping techniques, then many combinations combined to create a free flowing two person form.

The name Pushing Hands is misleading, it would be better described as Sensing, Following or Dissolving hands as the aim of the exercise is to learn to dissolve your partners force without using any of your own. It is a high level training that is very social and enjoyable to do, it has many of the benefits of the other forms but also provides a good cardiovascular and full body workout particularly to your legs and abdominal core. I highly recommend giving it a try, it is endlessly interesting and fun to train using the techniques contained within it.
Suitability: Cardiovascular workout, Increasing body strength, flexibility, Weight Loss, Stress Relief, Releasing body tension, Increasing Balance, Increasing lung capacity, Increasing circulation, Relaxation, Alertness, Overall good physical and mental workout.

Also available:

Wu Tai Chi is a full system, once you have your foundations laid you can move on to training in straight and broadsword forms, double broadsword and spear
